Review of Key Features and Benefits of the Campark TC07 Trail Camera

Camera

The TC07’s dual-lens design is one of the things that makes this trail camera shine, so we will spend a little more time than we usually do talking about what this can do for you. With one lens optimized for daytime conditions and one lens optimized for low-light conditions at night, the TC07 captures great images and videos regardless of the time of day.

Like most trail cameras it comes with 3 modes:  photo mode, video mode, and photo + video mode where the camera can take a picture before recording a video.

The TC07’s 120° wide-angle professional-grade cameras can capture up to 60-megapixel photos and can be set to snap up to 10 images each time the camera is triggered. The camera also has an adjustable shutter speed with settings of 1/15, 1/20, and 1/30, with the default setting being 1/30

When capturing video the TC07 can record 4K videos with audio at 30 frames per second (fps). For faster-moving action, the 2K and 1080p video resolutions give you the option to record the action at 60fps, which is excellent for fast action as we have previously discussed in our article about trail camera frame rates.

If you are familiar with trail cameras you expect to get black and white images and videos at night, but thanks to its Starlight Night Vision technology the lens the TC07 uses at night is capable of taking 8M color photos on low light nights(with moonlight or street lights) and record 1080P HD color video. This is really a game changer in the world of trail cameras, especially if you are considering using the TC07 for security purposes. Below is a video clip that was taken at night using the Campark TC06, which has the same dual-lens camera design as the TC07.

In the end, the Capark TC07 goes the extra mile to help ensure crisp and clear pictures and videos no matter the environment you place it in.

Built-In WiFi and App Control

Campark TC07 WiFi and App Control

In addition to its dual-lens design, one of the greatest benefits of the Campark TC07 is its wireless (not cellular) connectivity. Thanks to its Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities you are able to connect to the camera from a distance, which allows you to place the trail camera in elevated or other hard-to-reach places without having to worry about having to remember to bring a ladder or other heavy equipment every time you want to check the camera.

Depending on the camera’s surroundings, you should expect its Bluetooth to have a range of around 33 feet. Meanwhile, its WiFi signal should have a range of approximately 50 feet.

Connecting to the TC07 wirelessly is a breeze using the free Hunting 4K app on your smartphone. The app is available for both Apple and Android devices running IOS 9.0 or later, or Android 5.1 and above. Once the app is installed on your device connecting to the camera is a quick and easy 4-step process.

Step 1 – Connecting to the camera through Bluetooth: Even though the camera has both WiFi and Bluetooth, the Bluetooth signal is the only one that is always on since it uses much less power than the WiFi does, which is why you need to initially connect to the camera using Bluetooth.

Step 2 – Activating the camera: Once connected via Bluetooth you will be able to “activate the camera”. In other words, you will be able to turn its WiFi signal on.

Step 3 – Searching for the camera’s WiFi signal: Much like you would if you went to someplace new and needed to connect to their WiFi for the first time you would need to search for the available WiFi signals. In this case, you will be looking for TC07’s signal.

Step 4 – Connecting through WiFi: When you see the TC07’s WiFi signal you will want to select it so you can connect to the camera. You will be prompted to enter the camera’s WiFi password in order to connect to the camera. Once connected you will have access to the full features and functionality of the app.

The Hunting 4K app is user-friendly and enables you to view and download pictures and videos or change the camera’s settings with ease.

Motion (PIR) Sensors

The Campark TC07 has three PIR sensors with a cumulative detection angle of 120°. The sensors have a 65-foot detection range, which is about average for trail cameras today

You can adjust the sensors’ sensitivity to High, Medium, or Low, with Medium being the default sensitivity.

Trigger Speed

At 0.1 seconds, this Campark model has one of the fastest trigger speeds available. Having a blazing fast trigger speed like the TC07 makes it exceedingly difficult for anything to come within the detection range without being captured on pictures or video.

Flash

As we previously discussed, the TC07 is capable of taking color pictures and videos at night in low-light situations. However, if you’re looking to place your camera in an area where you don’t expect there to be light at night, you’ll want to opt for using the IR flash. This will result in black and white images or videos, as you would expect with most other trail cameras.

The Campark TC07 has a 24pcs 850nm LED low glow flash with a 65-foot flash range, which is pretty average/normal with trail cameras today.

Similar to the Campark TC07’s motion sensors its flash is adjustable. The flash can be set to Auto, Medium, Low, or Off, with Auto being the default setting. This is handy because it allows you to adjust the flash to complement the motion sensor’s sensitivity setting and account for the distance animals commonly appear in front of the camera.

Size

The TC07 trail camera is only slightly larger than a traditional trail camera. Its compact build is pretty impressive, considering it has a removable solar panel. Having a removable solar panel helps to conceal the camera’s location from vandals or thieves, much more than a trail camera with an external solar panel that is mounted separately.

Time-Lapse Feature

Like most of the other trail cameras we have reviewed in recent years, the Campark TC07 comes with a time-lapse feature, which can be very helpful if you want to monitor the area beyond the range of the motion sensor, or if you want to capture a slow occurring event.

Remember that PIR sensors will be disabled when the camera is using the time-lapse feature. As a result, when this feature is enabled the camera won’t be triggered by activity in its detection area and will only capture what is in front of the camera at the time intervals specified.

Hours of Operation Timer

An Hours of Operation Timer is an amazing feature that can help conserve battery life as well as storage space on your memory card if you don’t need the camera to monitor its surroundings around the clock.

So you will be excited to know that the Campark TC07 trail camera is equipped with two hours of operation timers! For example, if you want the camera to be active each day between 8 AM and 10 AM and then again between 6 PM and 10 PM, you can enable both timers. This allows you to easily customize the hours the camera is active each day to fit your specific needs.

LCD Screen

You can use the 2.4-inch color LCD screen to preview captured images and videos as well as to make changes to the camera’s settings. In addition, it has a speaker that is useful when viewing videos.

The TTC07’s LCD screen is very helpful during the trail camera’s initial setup and during any times that you don’t have your smartphone with you. However, because of its WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, you probably won’t have much need to use the LCD screen once the camera is in the field.

Memory Card

SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Card - C10, U3, V30, 4K UHD, SD Card - SDSDXXY-128G-GN4IN

Like all trail cameras, the Campark TC07 needs a memory card to store your pictures and videos. This Campark model supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards with a maximum capacity of 128GB. Class 10 cards are required and U3 cards are recommended. If you are looking for a great card that meets these criteria we suggest using the SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB SDXC memory card.

The TC07 also offers Loop Recording, which will let the camera overwrite the oldest files on the memory card to make room for new pictures and videos should the memory card become full.

If you want to learn more about the different types of memory cards that are available for trail cameras you can read our article on how to choose the best SD card for trail cameras.

Tip: Remember that higher resolution photos and videos will require more storage space on the camera’s memory card so you will probably want to go with a higher capacity SD card like the 128GB card shown above if you plan on waiting long periods of time before checking the camera, or plan on putting the camera in a busy location and recording video.

Password Protection

If you don’t want others to be able to access the camera and change its settings, you can restrict its access with a password. Go to the settings menu and you will be able to create a password that you will have to provide each time you want to use the camera.

Solar Panel

Along with its dual-lens design and its wireless connectivity, one of the other features that make the TC07 so intriguing is its removable solar panel.

The solar panel’s 1800 or 4400mAh rechargeable lithium battery should satisfy the energy needs of the camera for the vast majority of users saving you from having to buy countless batteries.

If the solar panel does not get sufficient sunlight to meet the camera’s needs the camera can also be powered by AA batteries.

Batteries

Energizer AA Batteries, Ultimate Lithium Double A Battery, 24 Count

The Campark TC07 is incredibly energy efficient as demonstrated by its ability to run for up to a year in standby mode, assuming the solar panel gets adequate sunlight. Making things even better is the fact that the TC07 can also be powered by 8 AA batteries, either in place of the solar panel or as a backup power supply in case the solar panel’s power is insufficient. This ensures that you’ll never be without power, no matter what the situation may be.

If you are looking for the longest-lasting trail camera battery, it is advisable to go for Energizer AA Ultimate Lithium batteries, which will provide both longevity and performance. These batteries are especially helpful if you want to place the camera in an elevated position.

Image Stamp

The image stamp feature makes it easy to sort your photos and videos as it shows their details. These include time, date, temperature, moon phase, and camera name. You may also turn the image stamp off if you wish, which might be appealing if you are using the camera for nature photography.

Included Accessories

In addition to the camera itself, the following items are included in the Campark TC07’s packaging.

  • 1 – Mounting Strap
  • 1 – Mini USB Cable
  • 1 – User Manual
  • 1 – Wall Mount (which works with the camera’s 1/4″ threaded mounting insert)
  • 3 – Mounting Screws

Areas of Use

With amazing high-resolution pictures and video to go along with all of its other great features, the Campark TC07 trail camera is a great choice for monitoring game animals, as well as for providing security for your home, farm, business, or recreational property.

However, there are two ways in which you might find it not suitable for your needs. The first would be if you need the camera to send you pictures as soon as they are captured, in which case you might be better served by a cellular trail camera.  The second scenario in which the camera may not be a great fit for you would be if you need the camera to keep its location hidden at night since the low glow IR flash could give away the camera’s location at night unless you plan on using the TC07 in low light settings that can take advantage of its Starlight Night Vision lens that doesn’t require the IR flash.

Pricing

The Camaprk TC07 is one of the better trail cameras when it comes to picture and video quality. That said, its price is a bit higher than entry-level cameras. But when you look at the many features and high-quality specifications it is still a tremendous value.

Other Options

Campark TC06 Trail Camera

The Campark TC06 trail camera shares the dual lens design and color night vision of the TC07 as well as the ability to record 4K videos and take up to 60MP images. It also has WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. As we discussed in our review of the Campark TC06 the big difference between the Campark TC06 and the TC07 is that the TC06 doesn’t have a removable solar panel.

While the removable solar panel is a great feature if you don’t plan on leaving the camera unattended for long periods of time or plan on putting it in areas where it may not get a lot of sunlight you might be happier with the TC06 as it is both cheaper and has smaller dimensions than the TC07 make it harder to spot in the woods.

GardePro E8 Trail Camera

GardePro E8 Trail Camera WiFi 32mp 1296p Fast 0.1s Trigger Speed Motion Activated 100ft Night Vision IP66 Waterproof

The Campark TC07 is a great camera, but if you’re looking for a cheaper option that doesn’t have a solar panel, the GardePro E8 is a great camera to consider. The GardePro E8 boasts Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities similar to the Campark TC07. Although it doesn’t have the 60MP image and 4K video recording capabilities of the TC07, the E8 is still a powerful device with its high-resolution 32MP pictures and 1296p videos. One advantage the E8 has over the TC07 is that it has a no glow infrared flash, which makes the E8 more difficult to detect at night.

If purchase the E8 and decide later that you wished it had a solar panel you will be happy to know that it has an input for a solar panel so you can add one later if you want to.
