Review of Key Features and Benefits of the Campark TC06 Trail Camera

Camera

The quality of the 120° wide-angle camera is a significant selling point of the TC06. It has a photo resolution of up to 60 megapixels, one of the finest on the market. Additionally, it can record 4K videos with audio at 30 frames per second. If you need to capture fast-moving action, the 2K and 1080p video resolutions allow you to record at 60fps, which is an ideal frame rate for capturing fast-moving subjects.

The TC06 features a dual-lens design, with one lens for daytime recordings and traditional black and white images at night, while the other lens steps in during low light conditions at night to get you amazing color photos and videos when other cameras can’t. The Starlight Night Vision technology used by the lens the TC06 uses during these low light conditions at night (with moonlight or street lights) is capable of taking 8M color photos and recording 1080P HD color video. This dual-lens design is really a game changer in the world of trail cameras, especially if you are thinking of using the TC06 for security purposes. Below is a video clip that was taken in a parking lot at night using the Campark TC06.

Even if you end up using the TC06 in a location that is completely dark at night, requiring the TC06 to switch over to traditional IR photography, its dual-lens technology will allow the camera to greatly extend the time during dawn and dusk when you are able to get color images and videos.

This trail camera has three modes: photo, video, and photo + video. In photo + video mode, the camera takes a picture before recording a video.

The photo burst setting allows you to take up to ten pictures when the camera gets triggered. Moreover, you can adjust the shutter speed to 1/15, 1/20, and 1/30. 1/30 is the default shutter speed.

Built-In WiFi and App Control

The Campark TC06’s dual-lens design is one of its best features, but it’s not the only one. It also offers wireless (not cellular )connectivity. The trail camera’s Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities enable you to connect to the camera from a distance, making it more convenient for you to check your camera later if you place it in an elevated or other hard-to-reach location.

The exact range of the camera’s Bluetooth and WiFi signals will vary depending on its surroundings, but you can expect the Bluetooth range to be around 33 feet. The range of the WiFi signal will be slightly longer, at approximately 50 feet.

Using your smartphone to connect wirelessly to the TC06 is simple to do using the free Hunting 4K app. The app is available for both Apple and Android devices running IOS 9.0 or later, or Android 5.1 and above. After the app is installed on your smartphone or other device connecting to the camera is a quick and easy 4-step process.

Step 1 – Connect to the camera using Bluetooth: The camera has both WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, but the Bluetooth signal is the only one that is always on since it uses less power than WiFi does. Therefore, you need to connect to the camera using Bluetooth initially.

Step 2 – Activate the camera’s WiFi: Once the camera is successfully paired with your device via Bluetooth, you will be able to activate its WiFi signal.

Step 3 – Search for the camera’s WiFi signal: Similar to how you would connect to a new WiFi network in a new location, you will need to search for available WiFi signals. In this case, you will be looking for TC06’s signal.

Step 4 – Connecting through WiFi: In order to connect to the TC06’s WiFi signal, simply select it from the available networks and enter the password when prompted. Once connected, you will have full access to all the features and functionality of the app.

The Hunting 4K app is designed to be user-friendly, allowing you to view and download pictures and videos or change the camera’s settings with ease.

Motion (PIR) Sensors

This trail camera has three PIR sensors with a wide 120° detection angle and 65-foot detection range, which is about the norm for trail cameras today, giving you a large detection area.

You may adjust the sensors’ sensitivity to High, Medium, or Low, with Medium being the default setting. For the most situations, I would suggest going with the High setting to start out. If you end up getting a lot of false triggers you can always turn the PIR sensitivity down.

Trigger Speed

If you are looking for a trail camera with a really fast trigger speed the Campark TC06 is hard to beat. With its blazing fast 0.1 second trigger speed. Between the TC06’s fast trigger speed and wide detection area, it will be hard for anything to pass by the front of the camera without being captured in pictures or video.

Flash

The TC06 comes equipped with a 2pcs 850nm low glow IR flash that has a 65-foot flash range that should be plenty of illumination to capture game animals at night. This flash range is comparable to the majority of other low glow trail cameras.

The low glow flash is adjustable with Auto, Medium, Low or Off settings; Auto is the default flash setting. An adjustable flash is a handy feature to have as it allows you to tailor the camera’s settings to its environment. For example, you can increase the flash intensity to better illuminate objects that are further away, or decrease it to prevent objects close to the camera from looking overexposed and washed out.

The one downside to using a camera with a no-glow flash is that the low-glow LEDs will make the front of the camera glow red, potentially giving away its location to anyone who is looking in its direction during the brief period that the flash is in use. This can be a problem if you plan on using the camera in a location where you want its location to remain hidden at night.

The good news with the TC06 is that if you are using it in a location where there is a low level of light at night, from a street light, for example, you could turn off the flash and let the TC06’s Starlight Night Vision technology take over and get you color pictures and videos at night.

Dimensions

This Campark model has a compact build, measuring 5.7 x 4.13 x 3.74inches (145 x 105 x 95mm). This aids in making installation easy and helps to deter vandals or thieves by making the camera harder to notice.

Time-Lapse Feature

Similar to most other trail cameras that are currently being sold, the Campark TC06 has a time-lapse feature. The time-lapse feature can be useful if you are looking to monitor an area that is beyond the range of the PIR sensors, if you want to capture slow-moving natural processes, or if you are having issues getting rid of false triggers.

The time-lapse feature is pretty straightforward to enable and specifying the time intervals you want the camera to take pictures at is easy.

Remember that the time-lapse feature on the TC06 disables the PIR sensors so that the camera won’t be triggered by activity in the detection area. So the only photos the camera will take will be at the times you selected.

Hours of Operation Timer

If you don’t need the camera to monitor the area it is in 24 hours a day having an Hours of Operation Timer can save you both battery life as well as storage space on your memory card.

The Campark TC06 trail camera has not just one, but two hours of operation timers! Having two Hours of Operation Timers allows you to more easily customize the camera’s active hours to suit your unique schedule and needs. For example, if want the camera to be active each day between 5 AM and 9 AM and then again between 6 PM and 10 PM, you can simply enable both timers.

LCD Screen

The Campark TC06 trail camera has a 2.4-inch color TFT LCD screen. The LCD screen allows you to modify settings and view captured videos and pictures. A speaker will enable you to listen to the audio that was captured in the videos.

The LCD screen on the TC06 is extremely useful for setting up the camera and for any situations where you don’t have your smartphone with you. However, the camera’s WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities mean that you probably won’t need to use the LCD screen much once the camera is in the field.

Memory Card

SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Card - C10, U3, V30, 4K UHD, SD Card - SDSDXXY-128G-GN4IN

The Campark TC06 supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards with a maximum capacity of 128GB. Class 10 cards are required and U3 cards are recommended. The SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB SDXC memory card, with its balance of performance, storage space, and price, is a great choice for this camera. If you are interested in learning about the different types of memory cards available for trail cameras, our article on choosing the best SD cards for trail cameras may be of interest to you.

The TC06 also offers Loop Recording, allowing the camera to overwrite the oldest files on the memory card to make room for new pictures and videos if the memory card becomes full.

  • Perfect for shooting 4K UHD video and sequential burst mode photography, Full HD (1920x1080) and 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) video support may vary based upon host device, file attributes and other factors

Tip: Remember that higher resolution photos and videos will require more storage space on the camera’s memory card so you will probably want to go with a higher capacity SD card like the 128GB card shown above if you plan on waiting long periods of time before checking the camera, or plan on putting the camera in a busy location and recording video.

You can restrict access to the camera by setting a password. When set, only people with the password can use the came

Batteries

Energizer AA Batteries, Ultimate Lithium Double A Battery, 24 Count

The TC06 can be powered by 8 AA batteries. Even though the camera is incredibly efficient as evidenced by its ability to last for up to 8-months in standby mode on one set of batteries, we suggest using Energizer AA Ultimate Lithium batteries.

Not only do lithium batteries give you consistent power and the longest battery life, but they are the best performing type of battery when the temperature drops below freezing as we discussed in our article about trail camera batteries.

Input for External Power Supply

Solar Panel

This Campark trail camera has an input for an external power supply to supplement the battery power. You may consider using the solar panel for a sustained power supply to increase the amount of time the camera can be used before new batteries are needed.

Campark actually sells a solar panel (shown above) that is specifically designed for trail cameras. You can check the current price of the Campark BC179 Solar Panel here.

Image Stamp

The image stamp feature makes it easy to sort out your video recordings and pictures as you look for patterns of animal behavior. The image stamp on the Campark TC06 shows the date, time, temperature, and the moon phase. It also includes a camera name (of your choosing) and can be turned on or off.

Included Accessories

The following items are included in the Campark TC06’s packaging.

  • 1 – Mounting Strap
  • 1 – USB Cable
  • User Manual
  • 1 – Wall Mount (which works with the TC06’s 1/4″ threaded mounting bracket)
  • 3 – Mounting Screws

Areas of Use

The Campark TC06 trail camera is a versatile camera that can be used for a variety of purposes, including monitoring game animals and surveillance and security for your home or business. The camera with its 60MP photo resolution and the ability to record 4K video, as well as take amazing color pictures and videos in low light conditions when other cameras can’t, will capture the details you need regardless of what you are using it for. Plus the many adjustable settings and fast trigger speed allow you to optimize the camera for its environment making sure that you never miss a shot.

There are probably only two scenarios where the TC06 might not meet your needs. The first scenario would be if you are using the trail camera for security and need it to send pictures to you as soon as they are captured, in which case you would be better served by a cellular trail camera. The other downside of the camera is that the low glow flash makes it harder to conceal the camera’s location, possibly giving away the camera’s location at night, but as we discussed earlier, you might be able to get around this issue thanks to Campark’s Starlight Night Vision technology that will allow you to get color pictures in videos in low light situations without the use of the flash.

Pricing

The Campark TC06 trail camera is pricier than standard entry-level trail cameras, but its features and performance justify the higher price tag. The Campark TC06 is an amazing camera that gets spectacular results both day and night, thanks to its dual lens design, long list of features, 3 PIR sensors, and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. On top of that many features on the TC06 are adjustable, which allows you to customize the camera to your specific needs. Overall, the Campark TC06 is an excellent trail camera that is well worth the price.

Other Options

Campark TC07 Trail Camera

Campark TC07 4K 60MP WiFi Solar Power Dual Lens Trail Camera

The Campark TC07 trail camera shares the dual lens design and color night vision of the TC06 as well as the ability to record 4K videos and take up to 60MP images. It also has WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity like the TC06. The big difference between the Campark TC07 and the TC06 is that the TC07 has a removable solar panel.

The TC07’s removable solar panel is a great feature if you want to leave the camera unattended for long periods of time. Plus, it will save you a lot of money in batteries over time. However, if you plan on putting it in areas where it may not get a lot of sunlight you might be happier with the TC06 as it is both cheaper and has a more compact profile that will make it harder to spot in the woods.

GardePro E8 Trail Camera

GardePro E8 Trail Camera WiFi 32mp 1296p Fast 0.1s Trigger Speed Motion Activated 100ft Night Vision IP66 Waterproof

The Campark TC06 is a great camera, but if you’re looking for a cheaper option for a wireless trail camera, the GardePro E8 is a great camera to consider. The GardePro E8 boasts Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities similar to the Campark TC06. Although it doesn’t have the 60MP image and 4K video recording capabilities of the TC06, the E8 is still a powerful trail camera with its high-resolution 32MP pictures and 1296p videos. One advantage the E8 has over the TC06 is that it has a no glow infrared flash, which makes the E8 more difficult to detect at night.
